Episode 210: 12/18/2022 - The 2022 Holiday HellShow!
Our 2022 holiday hellshow started with a set that was a mix of industrial, metal, darkwave, goth, and dark punk. The second block was a set of Krampus-themed tracks. We played tracks about some other Christmas-related entities, such as the Yule Cat, Mari Lwyd, Frau Perchta, and others in our third set. The fourth block was a set of winter-themed post-punk tracks in honor of Winter Solstice. We leaned into the holiday blues for the fifth set, then we wrapped up the show with a mix of dungeon synth, post-punk, and more!
We hope all of you have a good winter holiday, whether it’s Winter Solstice, Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa—or a good Sunday if you’re not into any of those!
Episode 209: 12/11/2022
We began this show with a set of industrial and EBM tracks to warm things up. Then we played a set of darkwave songs. That was followed with a set of post-punk tracks, including a couple referenced on the previous show. We played a set of messy and nasty noise rock in the middle of the show. The midnight block was a set of winter-themed noise and experimental tracks, then we finished the show with some experimental and recently-reissued material.
Episode 208: 12/4/2022
We began this show with some new industrial tracks. We followed that with a set of industrial and EBM-ish tracks. Then we played sets of synthwave, synthpop and darkwave. The midnight block was a set of fuzzy and noisy tracks. Then we wrapped up the show with some post-punk, darkwave, and ambient tracks that were mostly themed around the month of December.
Episode 207: 11/27/2022
We started this one off with a couple of new new tracks. We followed that with a set of minimal wave and synthpop tracks. Then we played a set of old and somewhat obscure post-punk songs. The fourth block was a set themed around consumerism, shopping, etc. because we’re now in the midst of the Christmas holiday season. We went shopping for some mallsoft tracks in the fifth block, then we wrapped up the show with set of shoegaze and experimental tracks.
Episode 206: 11/20/2022
We began this show with a set of new synthwave, industrial, etc. tracks. The second block was a set loosely themed around gratitude and thankfulness because Thanksgiving is this week. We followed that with a set of post-punk songs. The fourth block was a set of nekro black metal. The fifth set was a block of dungeon synth tracks. Then we wrapped up the show with a mix of shoegaze, experimental, etc.
Episode 205: 11/6/2022
We did a pre-recorded show this week because I (Operator OT) had issues with my car. We premiered a set of new darkwave, post-punk, and goth tracks. Then we played a mix of old and new darkwave and experimental tracks. We played some darker, harder misanthropic tracks in the third set. The fourth block was a set of noisy and techno-y EBM tracks. The fifth block was a set of goth, darkwave, and punk tracks about werewolves and lycanthropes, because this show is very close to the Full Moon. Then we finised the show with a set of mellower tracks themed around fall/autumn to keep the autumn afterflow going after Halloween.
Episode 204: 10/30/2022
This was our 2022 Halloween show! We began the set with some horror music themes and we debuted a track by the new local band Vampire Police. The following four sets were monster themed sets. We played a set of vampire-themed goth and deathrock tracks. We followed that up with a set of goth, darkwave, and industrial tracks about zombies. Then we played some goth, deathrock, and darkwave songs about ghosts and hauntings. We began the witching hour with a set of goth and industrial tracks about witches, then we closed the show with a set of songs about our favorite holiday. (Which is, of course, Halloween!) We hope all of you had a good and enjoyable Halloween season!
Episode 203: 10/23/2022
This was our yearly dark ambient and dark atmospheric show. We played sets of dark ambient drones, then we played a set of morbid death industrial tracks at midnight, then we finished the show with a set themed around dreams and sleep. Turn out the lights, listen to this through headphones, and maybe read something spooky—if you dare!
Episode 202: 10/16/2022
We started with some goth and deathrock tracks. The following three block wer a mix of goth, industrial, darkwave, along with a little synthwave. (I.e., I recycled my playlists from my DJ sets at October 15th’s Club Nevermore event, though this show was recorded three days before that event.) The fifth set was a block of sludge and black metal tracks by Native and Indigenous Americans. Then we finished the show with a set of spooky Halloween-themed dungeon and comfy synth tracks.
Episode 201: 10/9/2022
We started this show with some goth tracks and a couple of songs referencing the moon and lycanthropy, because this show happened on a full moon. DJ 10.29 from Club Nevermore came by to talk about the upcoming event on October 15th. Then we played some darkwave tracks. Then Operator OT and DJ 10.29 chatted about Club Nevermore and flesh hook suspension. We played some deathrock tracks, then we talked a little about horror movies. We played some noise rock tracks, then we followed that with a set of tracks by indigenous North American and Native American black metal artists. We finished the show with a set of shoegaze, experimental, and ambient tracks.
Note: The volume levels may be a bit inconsistent while DJ 10.29 is talking because his audio was a bit weak, so we boosted the volume in post-production editing.
