Episode 21: 11/12/2017
This episode started with a brief tribute to the late Fred Cole (of Dead Moon, The Rats, Pierced Arrows, et al) and a bit of synthpunk and Bone Awl. After that we went kind with a kind of dark EBM set and a slightly more dance friendly EBM set (you’ll have to provide your own glowsticks); then we did an industrial metal and black metal set; a set of noisier industrial; then we closed with a block of more sedate material. Did you even read this? I often don’t know how to describe what I play on my own show sometimes.
Episode 20: 11/5/2017
The first show of November took us back to the industrial grind with a couple of sets of industrial and EBM; and in the second half we had a set of autumn-themed industrial; a Halloween hangover set of death rock and doom metal; and we closed with a set of autumnal folk.
Episode 19: 10/29/2017 - Super Spoopy Soundtrack of Harrowing Horrors
In honor of Halloween, we did an episode that (mostly) featured music from horror movie soundtracks, along with some other surprises. I hope everybody has (or had) a great Halloween!
Episode 18: 10/22/2017 - Half Machine Lip Moves Does Dark Entries
In this episode we did something very different. Instead of the music we usually play we usually play we tried swapping formats with our friend DJ D’s show Dark Entries: Goth Radio and played goth, post-punk, deathrock, horror punk, etc. It was a fun show and I hope everyone enjoys it.
This episode started with some Christian Death to get things started, then we had a deathrock set, followed by a horror punk set. We followed that with a dark post-punk/g-beat block, then a moody-broody post-punk
Episode 17: Dark Ambien(t) Special 2017
Our highly (un)anticipated Super Spoopy Dark Ambien(t) Special. We started this one off in the murky area between death industrial and dark ambient, then we took a trip into the eerie ambient underworld. Headphones are encouraged, but not necessary, for listening to this episode. Play this one while reading something spooky and you’ll be in the Halloween spirit in no time.
Episode 16: 10/8/2017
In this episode we: played some industrial metal and a bit of power noise; death industrial and explored where industrial/post-industrial music meats black metal; then we shifted gears and played a set for a friend’s birthday, then some synth noise and old skool avant-experimental that was vaguely occult-themed in honor of October.
Episode 15: 10/1/2017
Our first show of October. We started with two blocks of industrial; then we had a witch-themed set in honor of October, which had witch house, noisy black metal, dark ambient, and old school experimental; more fall-themed industrial and experimental noise; then we mellowed and had a an autumnal psych-folk set and a fall-themed ambien(t) closer.
Episode 14: 9/24/2017
The world didn’t end last Saturday, so we were able to do our first show of the fall season. We played some of our usual industrial; a bunch of darkwave, including some local darkwave artists (the scene for that in Arkansas is small, but there is indeed one!); a set of ear-searing noise and power electronics; then our friends Amanda and Jason in South Carolina took over and got their own set of dark ambient; and we closed with an autumn-themed set.
Note: due to a technical error (i.e., I forgot to hit record), only half the show got recorded at the station. However, I was able to recreate the missing first half, so not all was lost.
Episode 13: 9/17/2017
In our (unlucky) thirteenth episode we went in a lighter direction and played a lot of minimal wave/synthwave/synthpop, then closed with a set of spacey noise. Download/stream is available below, as usual.
Episode 12: 9/10/2017
This show ended up being a cheery one (mostly) themed around war and nuclear annihilation. We started with a punk/hardcore set, then we went into industrial, EBM, and minimal wave, then there was a tribute to the late Holger Czukay and a rare Coil track.
