Episode 51: 8/26/2018
Episode #51 was a bit of a weird one. We started this one with Coil and played some industrial in our first block. The second block consisted of what our listener and fried Ipsy refers to as “Pants in the dryer that you forgot to take the spare change out of the pockets” industrial." And speaking of Ipsy, who made the graphics you see our our site and Facebook page, we played a doom metal set to in honor of his recent birthday. That was followed by a block of black metal, a blackened power electronics-noise set, then we closed with a ambient drone block.
Episode 50: 8/19/2018
The show reached a milestone by making it to its fiftieth episode, which we celebrated by doing nothing particularly special. We started with some requested Hunting Lodge and played some hot new industrial tracks. Then we had two blocks of industrial, post-punk, sludgy noise rock, noise, and experimental in honor of International Cat Day. After that was a block of crunchy robotic power disco noise, a set of ear-shredding noise, and we closed with an exodus to the land of drones.
Episode 49: 8/5/2018
We started this episode with some fairly fresh industrial tracks; then we had a set of classic and new-ish EBM. After that we went from industrial/EBM to noise rock, power electronics, dark wave/minimal wave, and closed with some old school avante-experimental. I never know how to describe my own show most of the time.
Episode 48: 7/29/2018
This episode started with some Thorofon and a couple of fresh new industrial bangers. Then we heard a block of fairly recent dark post-punk/g-beat, a Jason-pandering set featuring former members of Coil, then we closed with a set of spacey ambient themed inspired by this week’s Mars opposition.
Episode 47: 7/22/2018
The show came back from its hiatus with a rather somber episode. This episode started with some doom metal and post-punk; then we went went through an industrial grieving process with York Factory Complaint. After that we played some dark ambient, heard some tracks from the Coil family, and closed with a folkish-ambient block. Does anyone ever read these descriptions, because I never really know what to write for them.
Episode 46: 7/1/2018
Half Machine Lip Moves returned to the air after an unexpected week of absence (i.e., family issues) with an extra long show (3.5 hours!). We started with a brief anti-summertime set. Then we had a Canada Day-themed block of Canadian artists—and explored some of the links between two of the best-known Canadian industrial bands. Then we came back down to the US to do couple of “patriotic” blocks of industrial, synthpunk, and punk rock. We followed that with a dark post-punk/g-beat block, a Summer Solstice-themed block, and an extra block of listener requests.
Episode 45: 6/17/2018
This episode marked our one-year anniversary of going on the air. (The show’s debut was on 6/16/2017.) We started with an industrial block. The second and third blocks had punk, garage-punk, no wave, post-punk, hard rock/proto metal, experimental, and industrial themed around fathers and Father’s Day. Then we had a post-punk set, a synthwave/whatever-wave set, and closed with a spacey ambient track.
Epsiode 44: 6/10/2018
We started this one with a hard and heavy industrial set, then we had a face-melting noise rock set and some listener requests (thanks Amanda and Jason!). After that, we went into a minimal wave/synthpop set, a downtempo dark ambient set, and we closed with a set of experimental and ambient.
Episode 43: 6/3/2018
We started this episode with a grab-bag set that took us from industrialized dubstep to drone metal. Then, we started the show proper with a dance floor-friendly EBM set (bring your own glowsticks) and an aggressive stompy EBM set. Then we went into a hard and crunchy industrial set, a post-punk set, then we closed with a synthnoise block.
Episode 42: 5/27/2018
This episode started with two blocks of industrial and EBM, including a few new artists OT found recently. Then, because it’s Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start of the summer season, we had a summer-themed set of industrial, post-punk, and experimental. There was also an experimental avant-garde set, and in the final hour we went into a spacey cosmic direction. Are you still reading this? I don’t know how to describe my show most of the time.
